Shropshire residents boosted by new NHS dental practice

A new NHS dental practice is set to open in the Shropshire village of Gobowen.

Residents of the town have welcomed the announcement and are looking forward to making the most of the local services; currently, the region is underserved and many local people have to travel to larger towns such as Oswestry and Shrewsbury for dental treatment.

The announcement comes in the light of the opening of a new pharmacy in the village and requests made by local residents and councillors to bring more amenities to the ever-expanding village population; according to Parish council member, Ron Jones, the population of the village is increasing steadily year on year and people deserve access to local services. Now people in the village will be able to see their dentist without having to worry about travelling long distances, parking and using public transport; the new surgery will be a short walk for most people.

The new surgery is set to open its doors in the next few weeks and is taking on new patients.
