Shirts Flood In For Sunderland Dental Appeal

The people of Sunderland are getting behind an appeal launched by Michael Oliver from Oliver’s Dental Studio; the dentist appealed to football fans to give up their old red and white striped shirts to help the people of Africa.

Since Michael Oliver featured in the Sunderland Echo asking for fans to donate their Sunderland shirts, hundreds of people have got on board and the shirts have come flooding in.

Mr Oliver is a founding member of the Dental Mavericks, a group set up to support communities in Morocco; a team of volunteers visits the country every year and Michael is preparing for this year’s trip. The team is set to travel out to Morocco on September 28th and Michael is hoping to take over 200 shirts with him.

During their time in North Africa, the team will be providing dental treatment for hundreds of people and the shirts will be given out as gifts; many of the children are big fans of The Premier League and they will be really excited to own a replica shirt.

Oliver’s Dental Studio has teamed up with The Echo and Sunderland football club for the appeal and Michael said that he is overwhelmed by the support and thanked everyone for their kind donations and support for the appeal, which will make a huge difference to the people of El Jebah.
