Shipley Dental Firm Confirms Expansion Plans

A dental firm based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, has confirmed it is planning to expand thanks to funding from Rising Stars, a public-private partnership scheme setup to boost local business.

Techeram has already created four additional jobs by opening a private dental clinic in Baildon and the firm turned to Rising Stars to seek funding for further expansion plans. The company, which specialises in ceramics used in crowns, veneers and onlays, supplies around 100 dental laboratories across the country.

The business has turned over £800,000 since the opening of the Honesty Dental Care surgery. Dr Phil Evans, managing director of the firm, sought funding from Rising Stars, a scheme launched by Bradford Council and the Chamber of Commerce to support the opening of the practice and the manufacturing expansion plans.

Rising Stars provided much more than financial support, giving the company access to an enterprise coach, a business review and advice about restructuring the firm. The company was also given free access to a trained accountant for 12 hours.

Rising Stars was happy to support Techeram because the work done by the company will make a huge difference to dental care. The equipment produced by the company will soon enable dentists to create bespoke restorations is a matter of hours, rather than weeks, which will save time and valuable NHS money and resources.

Matt Harrison, sales and marketing manager at Techeram, said that dentists will use digital images, rather than impressions, to create replacement teeth and this will save a lot of time and money and also cut waste.
