The opening of a new NHS treatment and training centre in Perth has been put into forward gear by Scotland’s public health minister.
The minister performed the traditional sod cutting ritual when she went to see the progress of work at the new treatment centre, based at Broxden Business Park.
The treatment centre is expected to open the latter half of next year and will include twenty clinics, a cleansing area, skills training room and laboratory.
The opening of the new treatment centre will give service to 7,000 new patients. It was funded by the Scottish Government to the extent of £4.5m as part of their continuing work to improve healthcare services.
Shona Robinson, the Scottish public health minister, said: “I have very much enjoyed seeing the work in progress today.”
The minister added: “This facility, which the Scottish Government has provided 4.5m for, is just one example of the work going on across Scotland to provide healthcare facilities that are fit for the 21st Century and I’m sure it will be warmly welcomed by the people of Perth.”
The new treatment centre will be an important asset for nearby residents who will have more availability of top quality NHS dentists within the area.
