Scottish FA Calls for Help from Dental Experts Following Biting Drama

The Scottish FA has appealed for help from dental experts following dramatic fighting scenes that erupted at the Dundee derby last weekend (Sunday 23rd May).

SFA compliance director Tony McGlennan has reportedly called in a dental expert to shed some light on an ongoing argument between Dundee United and Dundee FC following an incident between two players at Tannadice on the 23rd May. The two sides are providing conflicting descriptions of what happened on the pitch. Dundee player Jim McAlister claims that he was bitten by United player Nadir Ciftci. Ciftci categorically denies the charges and the club is supporting him whole-heartedly.

Mr McGlennan is believed to have asked a dental expert to measure the marks on McAlister’s knee in a bid to provide some clarity before he makes a decision on what course of action to take. Photographs were also taken and team mates and the players involved have been asked to provide statements.

In a statement issued by Dundee United, the club expresses total support for Ciftci and suggests that the player himself suffered both physical and verbal abuse, including racial slurs, during the match. McAlister is believed to be completely shocked by the stance of the opposition club and director Jim Nelms has defended him, stating that he has no concerns about the player’s reputation being affected.
