Scotland’s largest new town, Chapelton, is to welcome a new dental practice, as Portlethen Dental Practice acquired a commercial space in the town. The practice already has a surgery nearby and the new clinic will run in partnership with the existing practice.

Chapelton is located near Newtonhill and is officially Scotland’s largest new town. Both the Portlethen Dental Practice and Chapelton Dental Care are to be run by Dr Geoff Gordon, principal dentist at the Portlethen surgery.

Portlethen Dental Practice already serves the surrounding area and the plan is for Chapelton Dental care to serve residents of the first phase of housing in the new town. The first phase of building work includes 256 new homes and this will be developed further in the future.

Dr Gordon said that the practice is already providing an important service to the patients of Aberdeenshire and it’s important that new residents of Chapelton are able to access dental care. The new practice will enable them to do this on their doorstep.

The practice will be taking on NHS and private patients, including children, in addition to patients covered by Denplan.

The new surgery will be located in the centre of the town. The space was the last remaining commercial premises in Chapelton.
