San Mateo County Dentists to Offer Free Dental Care for Children

Sample News Big

Dentists in San Mateo County are gearing up to host a free dental event for local children.

Dentists are joining forces to celebrate National Children’s Dental Month to provide dental treatment for children and encourage them to take good care of their teeth and gums.

Dental offices in the area will be providing free dental services on the 3rd and 4th February. A range of treatments will be available, including cleaning treatments, dental X-rays, fluoride varnish and oral examinations. Dentists will also be taking time to speak to parents about oral health issues and answer any questions they may have.

The event is designed to target children from low-income families. A growing number of households are struggling to afford dental care and free dental days are an important and effective means of giving back to the community and helping people out. Regular dental treatment is important for children, as decay is one of the most common preventable illnesses and children with poor oral health often suffer at school and have a lack of self-confidence.

Dentists hope to treat around 100 children over the course of the two-day event and parents are invited to contact the offices to register their child.
