The dental team from Maple Road Dental Practice is doing its bit to support National Smile Month.

In the last couple of weeks, the team has been out and about visiting local children’s playgroups and primary school classes to educate them about oral health and promote the key messages of the National Smile Month campaign. This year’s campaign, which runs until the 18th June, focuses on the importance of three main steps to good oral health: brushing every morning and evening for two minutes using fluoride toothpaste, going to the dentist for regular check-ups and keeping an eye on sugar consumption.

Recently, the team paid The Avenue Methodist Church Playgroup in Sale a visit to show the kids how to brush their teeth properly, educate them about the impact of their diet on oral health and encourage them to learn about their teeth and gums. The kids were given giant teeth and brushes to practise with and they took part in a host of fun games and activities.

The practice is also hosting a treasure hunt known as the Tooth Trail at Dunham Massey on Friday 5th June with a host of great prizes up for grabs. The hunt will take place at Red House Farm.

The practice is always eager to get involved in community projects and works with a number of local schools, nurseries and playgroups.
