Sainsbury’s Dental Centre To Host Stop Smoking Clinics

The Centre for Dentistry at Sainsbury’s, Chichester, will host Stop Smoking clinics as part of national No Smoking Day, which will take place on Wednesday.

On Wednesday members of the well being team from Sussex Community Trust will visit the store to promote the clinics, which will be held every Wednesday at the in-store dental surgery and hand out information about giving up smoking.

The Centre for Dentistry is working with the trust to run clinics every Wednesday between 2.30pm and 5.30pm; the clinic offers 15 minute individual sessions and provides support and information for patients who want to quit smoking.

Dr Richard Guyver said that for dentists it is clear to see the effects of smoking on oral health, as well as general health and it is important to try and encourage people to give up and support them during the process of quitting, which can be very difficult for some people. Dr Guyver said that it was an easy decision to team up with the local trust to host the clinics and try and encourage as many people as possible to give up smoking.

Anyone who wants to find our more about the clinics is advised to call 01243 533011.
