Riverdale Health Care submits plans to open new dental practice in Leyburn
Riverdale Health Care is hoping to open a brand new dental practice in Leyburn.
The firm, which already operates a clinic in the town under its dental brand, Alpha Dental Care, has submitted plans to the local council to create a new, more spacious surgery off Richmond Road. The site is question is located next to Trevor Cottage close to the fire station and the council car park.
If plans are approved by Richmondshire District Council, the existing practice, which is based in the Brentwood Lodge building, would relocate to the new plot. The site is larger and would enable the clinic to serve more patients. The proposals detail plans to recruit two additional full-time members of staff.
Alpha Dental currently provides both private and NHS dental services in Leyburn, and the team is hoping to expand if the plans are given the green light.
Representatives from Riverdale Health Care believe that the land offers an ideal base for a new, purpose-built dental centre, which would serve thousands of local residents. Easily accessible and close to other amenities at the heart of the town, patients could benefit from high-quality, affordable private and NHS dental treatment on their doorsteps. The Alpha Dental team would be looking to relocate existing patients seamlessly, welcoming them to new, modern premises, and to encourage more patients to join the register.
The council will now review the application and a decision is expected in the coming weeks.
