Research Says Brits More Worried About Pearly Whites Than Summer Bodies

Sample News Big

Brits are more worried about showing off their pearly whites than their beach bodies, according to new research carried out by the makers of Invisalign invisible braces.

The survey revealed that more than a quarter of people are worried about showing off their smile.

Crooked teeth have also been listed among the most common turn-offs, with 26 per cent of people saying that they would not date somebody with an unattractive smile and 50 per cent of people claiming that your smile says a lot about how much pride you take in your appearance. A bad smile rated higher than wrinkles in the poll.

The survey also showed that the vast majority of Brits look for a good sense of humour in a partner, but a lack of confidence associated with showing off an unattractive smile can affect the relationship you have with another person and prevent you from showing off your true personality. Many people who are unhappy with the look of their smile admit that they do not smile as much as they want to because they are conscious of revealing a flawed set of pearly whites.

The survey also showed that many of us are willing to fake a smile to placate other people; the most common instances for faking smiles are talking to the boss and meeting a new person.
