People started to gather outside a dental office in Wyomissing the night before a free clinic on Saturday. Crowds started to form from 10pm on Friday night ahead of a Dentistry from the Heart event at Wyomissing Dental Associates.

The dental team worked with Dentistry from the Heart to stage the clinic and 102 patients received free treatments, including fillings, cleaning treatments and extractions. In total, dentists donated around $25,000 worth of treatment.

The event was organised by Dr Jeff Grove, his father, Dale and fellow dentist, Dr Patrick DeForno; Dr Dave Winans and Dr Steve Fallon, from Berks Dental, Wyomissing, also offered their services to help the team see as many patients as possible.

The team at Reading Orthodontic Group, which is just down the road, also helped out by sterilising the instruments, which allowed dentists to work faster.

Dr Jeff Grove said that patients started to arrive on Friday night and dentists handed out gift bags to make the waiting time slightly more enjoyable; one man even slept in his car.

By 8:30am, a crowd of 102 people had gathered and the dentists set about their business. The maximum number of patients was 102 and all other patients who appeared later were referred to other Dentistry from the Heart events.
