Preston super surgery set to open
A new super surgery in Preston is near completion, according to NHS Central Lancashire.
The new practice, which is located on Ringway, will open its doors to patients on Monday 12th April. The surgery will provide NHS places for around nine thousand patients; this will completely empty NHS Central Lancashire’s list of people waiting for an NHS dental place. The first week has already been fully booked by patients eager to receive care at the new surgery.
The new Preston super surgery will ease pressure on dental places in the area; previously, locals were facing a lengthy wait for treatment and many struggled to get an appointment with an NHS dentist at all; now, they will have access to a comprehensive range of treatments and services without having to travel or wait long periods of time for an appointment. The surgery will work in a slightly different way to most other practices as the team will made up of a mixture of dentists, dental therapists, dental nurses and hygienists; this will maximise care services and allow more patients to be treated. In addition to general dental services, the surgery will also offer emergency dental care, which will be available throughout the day from 10am to 10pm. The new practice boasts training facilities, newly refurbished treatment rooms and a specially designed suite for disabled patients.
So far, the practice has attracted more than two thousand patients and NHS Central Lancashire are encouraging those in the Preston area without an NHS dentist to come forward and register with the new surgery; places will be filled quickly so if you want to register simply contact NHS Central Lancashire. At the moment, staff from NHS Central Lancashire are contacting people on the database and will put them in contact with the Ringway practice if they are interested in accepting a place.
