Practice Plan Launches New Campaign to Help Consumers Reduce Sugar Intake

Sample News Big

Practice Plan has launched a new campaign to encourage people to reduce their sugar intake.

The launch comes after research showed that some of the high street’s most famous retailers were selling drinks containing up to four times the recommended daily intake of sugar and the government’s announcement regarding a new sugar tax. Practice Plan will be using social media platforms to provide educational information and hints and tips to help people cut down their sugar intake.

Gayle Collett, head of marketing, said that many people are unaware of the sugar content of popular food and drink products and this is contributing to a large proportion of the population consuming far more sugar than they think. The campaign is offering useful tips and handy hints to help people make simple food swaps and keep an eye on their daily sugar intake.

Practice Plan has designed the campaign to make it accessible to a broad spectrum of people, and the firm is encouraging dental clinics, health centres and surgeries to get involved and share its links and posts. As well as providing nuggets of wisdom and suggestions to help people reduce sugar consumption, the posts also identify potential health issues linked to excessive sugar consumption and offer information on dental disease, heart disease and diabetes.
