Plans to Extend Urchfont Dental Practice Refused by Council

Sample News Big

Wiltshire Council has turned down a planning application from a dental practice in Urchfont, it has been confirmed.

Representatives from Urchfont Dental Practice, which is located in High Street, applied to the council for permission to extend the practice and make improvements to the reception area and office space. However, they have been refused on the grounds that there is insufficient parking and limited turning space close to the building. There were concerns that an extension would create more traffic, which would contribute to a lack of available parking and longer journey times and a worry that motorists would struggle to access and leave the premises.

The decision is a blow for the dental team. If the plans had been approved, the surgery would have been able to accept a further 500 patients and create two new jobs. There were plans to take on a new dental nurse and a new dentist.

Nobody from Urchfont Dental Practice has commented on the decision yet.
