Plans to expand Oakham dental practice get the green light

A dental practice in Oakham is set to triple in size after plans to expand the clinic were given the green light by Rutland County Council.

Plans to extend Green Oakham Dental Care include proposals to change the use of part of the ground floor and the first storey of the existing premises to create new dental facilities. Currently, the areas are used for residential purposes.

The expansion project will see the practice increase to 196 squares metres, which will enable the team to recruit new members of staff and provide services for more patients. Staff numbers will rise from three full-time and 1 part-time member of staff to eight full-time and 4 part-time members.

A report compiled by the council suggested that the expansion and renovation would facilitate growth within the business, provide local employment opportunities and “help ensure the viability of the town centre.”

Work on the practice, which is located at 74, High Street, Oakham, is set to start in the coming weeks.
