A dental team from Petersfield is preparing to don pinnies and whisk up a storm to raise money for charity. The staff at Sixty-Six Dental Surgery is hosting a bake sale on Tuesday 19th June to raise funds for Marie Curie and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Dentists usually discourage patients from eating sweet treats, but for one day only, the team will be urging visitors to indulge their sweet tooth and buy cakes, all in the name of two brilliant causes. Dr Adam Jones said that previous bake sales have been very successful and praised the culinary talents of his team. Baking is a fun way to get patients involved in fundraising, and it’s an event that will appeal to all ages.

The practice has chosen the two charities because of their involvement in the community and their reach. Both charities support hundreds of people all over the country who are affected by dementia and cancer, as well as priding emotional support and practical advice for their families and close friends.

The practice will be open all day, and anyone who is keen to sample the delights and try out some sugary delicacies is advised to pop in and leave their donation with the team. Boxes will be available to take cakes homes for friends and family, and the dental team is happy to encourage patients to embrace the notion that everything is fine in moderation!
