A dental team from Penkridge is leaving the surgery for the day to celebrate National Smile Month and encourage local people to adopt good oral health habits.

The team from Priors Dental Practice situated at Pinfold Lane will be downing their drills for the day to get out and about and talk to local residents about oral hygiene and the importance of good oral health. The dental team will be visiting the town’s train station, the Co-op supermarket and Jasper’s Bakery to chat and share important advice about maintaining good oral health.

The initiative is part of celebrations for National Smile Month, which is an annual national event run by the British Dental Health Foundation. The campaign aims to educate people about oral hygiene so that they are able to take simple steps to improve their oral health and reduce their risk of developing dental problems, such as cavities and gum disease.

The Priors Dental team will be on hand to answer questions about brushing and flossing, buying oral hygiene products, smoking and oral health and nutrition and they will also be handing out balloons and stickers to children.

The team is hoping to be at the station between 8am and 9am, before moving to the Co-op from 9am to 11am and Jasper’s Bakery from 11am until 1pm.
