A dental team has raised £2,500 for charity after completing the Three Peaks Challenge in Wales.

The team from Hickman House Dental and Laser Surgery raised an amazing total for a good cause after successfully climbing Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan on Friday 12th July. The team of six conquered soaring temperatures to complete the gruelling challenge in 19 hours. In total, the team scaled an overall ascent of almost 10,000 feet and the route was 21 miles long.

Dr Mark Roach, the team leader, said that the challenge was great fun, even though at times it was very difficult and exhausting. It was very hot on Friday and the ascent was steep, but everyone pulled together to scale the heights and navigate the peaks. Dr Roach said that the team was made up of individuals with varying levels of fitness and some found it more difficult than others, but there was great team spirit and everyone had a great time.

The money raised by the team will be split between several charities, as members of the team wanted to support different causes. The charities include the British Heart Foundation, Wales Air Ambulance, LATCH,Great Ormond Street, Alzheimer’s UK, Kidney Research Unit Wales, Autism Cymru and Cerebra.

Dr Roach thanked all the team for their amazing efforts over the last few months and patients and local people who have supported the causes and given generous donations.
