Sample News Big

The Olympic torch has finally reached London, the host city and is making its way around major landmarks and Olympic districts. Yesterday, the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute hosted the torch before it continued its journey via University College London Hospital.

The torch attracted large crowds at the dental hospital; among them was head dental nurse, Pamela Parker, who said that the arrival of the torch was an unexpected, but very welcome, surprise.

Karlee Beech, a 12 year old patient who was suffering after having her braces tightened, was also in the crowd and said that seeing and holding the torch had cheered her up and taken her mind off the pain.

The torch also visited the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, the Heart Hospital, the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre, the Hospital for Tropical Diseases and finally the Accident and Emergency Department at UCLH.

The torch has made its way around the UK over the course of the last couple of months, with around 8,000 people selected to run with it; torchbearers were nominated by people in their local community.
