‘Numerous solutions available’ for chipped teeth
Chipped teeth can not only look unattractive but also cause serious pain and leave the sufferer at risk of tooth decay, it has been claimed.
The Art of the Smile clinic in Atlanta, US, reported that the problem can be easily rectified with cosmetic dentistry solutions.
If the problem is quite significant, as in a large proportion of the tooth is missing, dental bonding or dental implants can be utilised, it explained.
Other solutions include enamel recontouring or porcelain veneers, the clinic added, claiming that veneers are often the most effective method as they can cover a number of imperfections in one treatment such as misshapen, discoloured or crooked teeth.
"Each case is unique," the firm stated. "The best solution for you will depend on the extent of damage to the chipped tooth itself and whether or not you wish to address any problems with surrounding teeth at the same time."
The Sun newspaper reports that a third of the UK populationare unhappy with their teeth and only a quarter are happy with their smile.
