A man who was convicted of harassing a number of nurseries, schools and dental surgeries by prank calling them repeatedly, has escaped time in prison.

David Cox, who is 55 years old and comes from Marston Green, was charged with making indecent, menacing and offensive calls to a number of organisations between the months of September and December last year. He pleaded guilty at Northampton County Court yesterday and was subsequently sentenced to spend 16 weeks in jail on a two year suspended sentence. Mr Cox was also ordered to attend a sex offender’s course and will be required to pay £150 towards legal costs.

The prosecutor, Colin McGregor said that Mr Cox had terrorised local organisations, including children’s nurseries, schools and doctors’ and dentists’ surgeries. Mr Cox admitted to making 72 calls of an indecent and sexual nature.
