Northwich Dentist Completes Greater Manchester Run To Raise Hundreds For Charity

A dentist from Northwich,Cheshire, has completed the Bupa Great Manchester Run to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

Principal dentist at Witton Street Dental Practice, Paul Diss, ran the 10 kilometre race on Saturday to raise money for the British Heart Foundation; his wife Katie also took part and the pair finished the race in a very respectable time of 55 minutes.

Around 40,000 people took part in the race, which runs through the city centre, taking runners past Manchester’s most famous landmarks, including Deansgate and St Peter’s Square; the race started on Portland Street and the finish line was located on Deansgate.

Paul and Katie have raised more than £900 for the British Heart Foundation and both thanked everyone for their support and kind donations. Paul thanked patients and staff members at the practice and said that the race was great fun, as well as an amazing opportunity to raise funds for a very worthy cause.

Paul decided to run in aid of the British Heart Foundation after losing his mother, Wendy, to hear disease. He said that the money they raised will make a huge difference to a number of people and he is very proud to be supporting the charity, which does excellent work.
