A dental team from Northwich, Cheshire is swapping the treatment room for the river to take part in the town’s famous dragon race.

Dentist Paul Diss, from Witton Street Dental Practice, and his fellow team members are set to participate in Northwich River Festival’s most eagerly anticipated race on Saturday 13th July. The festival, which is always a hit with local residents, will take place over the course of the weekend, with a huge range of races on the cards, in addition to other activities aimed at all ages.

During the dragon race, teams will row from the Town Bridge to the Odeon Cinema, which is located at Baron’s Quay. The dragon race will be the highlight for many visitors on Saturday, while Sunday’s star attraction is likely to be the rafting race.

Speaking about the event, Paul said that the team loves to get involved in the festival. Having been part of the community for over 40 years, it’s great to be able to take part in activities and to support local events.

As well as challenging themselves on the day, the Witton Street team will also be raising money for charity. The practice is hosting a raffle, with prizes including afternoon tea, a cut and finish, beauty treatments and a year’s subscription to Cheshire Life magazine up for grabs.
