Northamptonshire dental care to improve

Sample News Big

Oral health in two Northamptonshire towns may soon be improved thanks to new plans for local dentistry.

Patients in both Wellingborough and Corby could soon have 12-hour access to dental care if the proposal to open dental access centres go ahead.

The NHS Northamptonshire plans would see two new surgeries open from 8am to 8pm and an existing centre, based in Willow Brook Road, Corby to be closed.

The local health authority plans to have spent £5million between 2009 and the end of 2011. It has already opened new dental practices in Kettering and Oundle.

Approximately £2.7million will be spent on the Corby and Wellingborough surgeries.

Phil Hope, MP for Corby, called the plans “great news” and said that they would increase access to dental care in the area.

He added that the services would meet the needs of local people.

Local residents are now being asked to present their views about the plan.
