A whitening firm based in Middlesbrough has teamed up with a dental laboratory based in Sunderland in a deal rumoured to be worth around £100,000 per year.

WhiteWash, which supplies premium whitening products to dental clinics all over the UK, has sealed the deal with Ashford Orthodontics. The lab will now manufacture the whitening trays used by WhiteWash.

WhiteWash was formed by school friends, Tom Riley, Chris McPhillips and Matthew Lloyd and the trio has worked hard to establish the company as a reputable firm; currently, Whitewash sells to more than 20 companies globally and the firm supplies whitening products to more than 1,000 clinics in the UK. The founders worked closely with dentists to develop the whitening formula, which has been proven to produce excellent results.

Tom Riley, managing director of WhiteWash, said that it was great working alongside Ashford Orthodontics, not just because they are one of the UK’s leading dental labs, but also because they are also based in the North East. The agreement means that patients using the WhiteWash system will be using high quality, British-made whitening trays.

Ashford Orthodontics was established eight years by Craig Stevens, Graeme Winyard and Sean Thomson, and the team has already expanded to 17 members of staff. The lab operates a two year training programme for all technicians and managing director, Craig Stevens, said that the deal is great news for the firm. Mr Stevens described WhiteWash as a “progressive, interesting and innovative company” and said that everyone at Ashford Orthodontics is looking forward to working with the firm.
