NHS urges local dental patients to get involved in future plans after closure of two practices in Taunton

The NHS is urging local dental patients in Somerset to get involved in shaping the future of dental services in the area following the closure of two practices in Taunton.

The mydentist clinic in The Crescent and Wellington Street Dental Practice have recently closed down and the NHS is now encouraging people who have been affected by the closures to participate in a survey, which will help to shape the future of NHS dental provision.

The local health trust is inviting patients in Taunton Deane to take part in a survey to ascertain important information about how people access services, where they go to see a dentist and how far they would be willing to travel in order to see a dentist. The survey is available online and the closing date is Thursday 30th November. The information obtained from the surveys will enable local health chiefs to determine demand for local services and identify potential areas for additional NHS dental places.

In the meantime, patients who have been affected by the closure of both the mydentist clinic and Wellington Street Dental Practice are encouraged to contact the NHS Somerset Dental Helpline on 0300 1237691 for more information and advice about accessing NHS dental care in the local area.
