A new state of the art dental practice has been opened in Portree.

The Portree Dental Clinic was officially opened by the practice’s youngest registered patient, 5 month old Darren Gillies, on Thursday 8th March. Baby Darren, who only has one tooth so far, unveiled the plaque with the help of his mother, Moira and Dr Ken Proctor.

The clinic, which cost £1.2 million, boasts all the latest technology and equipment and will be a welcome addition to the local community. Moira Gilles said that the clinic is very handy for her family, as she works in the area and has a child at school in Portree. Moira added that the new dental centre will save her from making long journeys and make going to the dentist a much more convenient experience, a view shared by many local residents.

The clinic will provide a full range of dental hygiene and general dental services and local residents are invited to contact the practice directly to register and make their first appointment.
