New Multi-Million Pound Health And Dental Centre Opens In South Kirby

A brand new, state of the art health and dental centre has opened its doors to the public in South Kirkby.

The new facility, which cost £6.5 million, is located on Langthwaite Road and deliver health and dental care services to 12,000 people living in the South Kirkby and South Elmsall areas.

The Church View Health Centre boasts GP surgeries, a dental practice and community health services, including district nursing, sexual health services, a community dentist, speech therapy and podiatry.

Local GP practices, including Little Lane Surgery and Stockingate Surgery have moved to the new centre and the facility also houses an NHS dental practice, a pharmacy and an opticians.

The project was funded by RBS Healthcare and overseen by Community Ventures. Dean Spencer, development director at Community Ventures, said that the project is indicative of long-term dedication to deliver more advanced service options to the local community and that everyone involved is very happy with the outcome.

Mike Coster, from RBS, said that the new health centre is “fantastic” and a venture that RBS is proud to be part of; he added that the project is a representation of the firm’s commitment to supporting community projects.
