New GDC guidance on manufacturing dental appliances

Sample News Big
Dental practices registered with the General Dentistry Council have to abide by new standards when prescribing, manufacturing and fitting dental appliances, under guidance released this week.
Following a 12-week consultation, the GDC has released the guidance to promote a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities involved in commissioning or manufacturing dental appliances.
The guidance consists of the GDC’s expectations in terms of the European Commission’s Medical Devices Directive, and guidance for those who arrange for dental appliances to be made in the UK and for those who subcontract or use dental appliances made outside of the UK.
