A new dental clinic is set to open at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

The clinic is due to open in September and dental professionals have been invited to visit the facility at an open day, which will take place on the 9th August.

The clinic will provide dental services to people in Lancashire and communities in the South Lakes, as well as enabling students from the University of Central Lancashire’s Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education to hone their clinical skills on-site.

The clinic will be accepting referrals from practices around the county and will have four general dental surgeries, an oral surgery suite and a training suite, which boasts ten dental chairs. In addition to providing dental services to local people, the clinic will also be offering discounted care for students and members of staff, as well as their families, through the Denplan programme.

The clinic will be offering specialist dental care, including endodontic, periodontic and restorative treatment and dental implants.

Paul Walsh, clinical director of the UCLan dental clinic, said that the facility will provide first-class standards of care and expects a growing number of referrals once the clinic is up and running.
