The Minnesota Mission of Mercy has confirmed that a 2-day free dental event will take place on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th July at the DECC.

The charity event is expected to help thousands of people access free dental treatment and organisers are anticipating large crowds, with many people set to start queuing hours before registration even begins. Over the course of the two-day event, hundreds of volunteers will give up their time to provide a range of dental services, including fillings, tooth extractions, cleaning treatments and routine dental checks.

Last year’s Minnesota Mission of Mercy clinic took place in Mankato and the team of volunteers treated around 1,500 patients, providing millions of dollars worth of treatment free of charge.

Dr Steve L’Abbe is one of the many dentists who will be working over the course of the weekend and he is expecting this year’s event to be even bigger than last year’s, with a target of around 2,000 patients.

The doors will open at 5.30am on both days and all appointments will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
