A dentist from Melton Mowbray has completed a triathlon challenge to raise money to buy a defibrillator for the town market.

Dr Robin Bryant from Oasis Dental Care decided to raise money for life-saving equipment at the market after a local farmer collapsed and people had to hurry to the practice to borrow their defibrillator.

Dr Bryant raised a total of £1,040, which included a donation of £740 collected by local farmers at the cattle market. Bentons Estate Agents also gave £150 to the cause. Patients and colleagues from the practice also donated generously to the collection.

Melton Mowbray market manager Tim Webster thanked Dr Bryant for his fundraising efforts, which have helped the market to invest in equipment that could potentially save a lot of lives in the future.

Dr Bryant, a keen athlete, felt that investing in life-saving equipment was a very worthwhile cause and the triathlon provided the opportunity to raise money as well as challenge himself. Everyone at Oasis Dental Care has been hugely supportive and Dr Bryant thanked everyone at the clinic and all the farmers and local residents for their kind donations.
