A poodle that was scooped up by a bird of prey and dropped onto the roof of a nursing home in British Columbia, is preparing for dental surgery.

May, nicknamed the ‘miracle poodle’ will undergo dental surgery today. Nurses discovered May after she fell from a great height and members of the public have donated money for dental and medical care. May had severe dental decay and she also suffered gouges to her neck and back and several broken ribs. The story was featured on CTV news and support for the poodle has poured in; donations have been ledged from people all over Canada and America.

SPCA shelter manager, Sharon Broderick said that the telephones are ringing off the hook and people are desperate to know how May is getting on. The shelter has also received several adoption enquiries but staff said that May needs a great deal of care and treatment before she will be ready to move on from the shelter.
