A dental practice in Marlborough has cancelled appointments for 2019 after confirming that it will close in December.

Patients at the Kennet River Dental Practice have been contacted by members of staff and advised that NHS services will be unavailable from the 31st December. The practice’s contract with the NHS is due for expiry, and will not be renewed.

In response to the news, representatives from NHS England have confirmed that a search for a new dentist in the area is underway, and the body is hoping to have a new contract holder in place by spring 2019. The authority has assured patients that it will do everything to ensure that the local population has access to NHS services.

Anyone who is looking to find a new dentist in the area is advised to call NHS 111 for information about local services or consult the NHS Choices website for details of practices in the region that are accepting new NHS patients.

NHS England will release further details about new contracts as and when a new provider is found.
