A man has been charged after investigations revealed that he was running three dental offices without a valid license.

Police were tipped off by a patient, who suffered at the hands of the dentist when he broke her dentures; she said she had asked him a number of questions including whether he had a license to practise and he refused to answer the questions; subsequently she called the Department of Health.

Investigators found that David Lawrence, 41, did not have a license to practise as a dentist or dental hygienist; he was running three branches of Denture World in Deerfield Beach, Delray Beach and Tamarac when he was arrested.

Mr Lawrence now faces fifteen charges, including operating a dental laboratory without a valid license and practising as a dentist without a license.

Police are appealing for information from previous patients at Denture World or anyone who knows Mr Lawrence.
