MP Bambos Charalambous paid Barnet and Southgate College a visit recently to take a tour of the brand new dental and technological facilities. Mr Charalambous visited the college to take a look around the Centre of Excellence for Technology Enhanced Care and the BSC Centre of Dental Sciences, facilities, which provide training and support for students hoping to work in healthcare careers linked to advanced technology.

The new facilities will provide training posts and apprenticeships for a range of students, including those hoping to work in dental technology. The new dental centre is a step away from traditional “messy” techniques and focuses on clean, efficient systems and features such as CAD design and 3D printing, explains David Byrne, principal of the college.

Mr Charalambous was very impressed with the resources and facilities on offer at the college and took great pleasure in looking around and finding out more about the learning techniques, which offer a glimpse into the future of the health industry. The local MP said that he had worked hard to make education and further education a priority and added that he had a particular interest in the new facilities having studied at a technical college himself.
