The residents of Sedbergh now have access to a new, state of the art dental practice after Sedbergh Dental Practice was officially opened by local MP, Tim Farron.

The practice has opened in a former Spar shop and members of the dental team were delighted to welcome Mr Farron, the MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, to the official opening ceremony. Mr Farron was given a tour of the surgery and staff members also welcomed members of the public with a glass of mulled wine and a festive mince pie.

The surgery boasts disabled access, four treatment rooms, spacious waiting areas and a specially designed decontamination room.

Ben Houghton, principal dentist at the practice, said that the new surgery represents “a huge step forward” in terms of what the surgery offers to patients.

The surgery has opened in a former shop, which was derelict and Mr Houghton said that the response from the public has been very positive. The opening of the new dental surgery has boosted the high street and patients are now able to pop into the practice when they do their shopping.
