A dental duo from Lisburn hit the dancefloor to raise money for charity recently.

Dental nurse, Stephanie Davidson and practice manager Gordon Hughes, from Lisburn Bupa Dental Centre, undertook intensive training to participate in the ‘Bupa does Strictly’ event. The dance extravaganza was held to raise cash for Bupa Dental Care’s chosen charity, Make-A-Wish. The event was hosted by Q Radio DJ, Ryan A.

Over the course of the night, ten couples from Bupa practices took to the floor to show off their interpretations of classics including the Tango and the Cha Cha.

Practice manager Gordon said that training for the dance has been really fun, and added that the Strictly event was the “icing on the cake.” Crowds turned out in their droves to cheer the dancers on and there was a great atmosphere on the night.

Patients and colleagues were invited to sponsor couples before the gala and many spectators also donated on the night. In total, Bupa Dental has raised more than £26,800 for Make-A-Wish. The charity makes dreams come true for children who are suffering from terminal and incurable illnesses.

Stephanie and Gordon thanked everyone in Lisburn for their kind support and generous donations, and they said it was an honour to take part for such a worthy cause.
