A high street store in Lincoln is set to be converted into a new dental practice.

JDSP Dental Limited is planning to turn the premises, which were previously used as a furniture store, into a brand new clinic. The move is part of an expansion plan in the area, which will see four new practices open by January 2019. The store has been earmarked as a suitable spot for a surgery, as it is centrally located and easily accessible via public transport.

The Lincoln surgery is one of four new clinics, with others set to open in nearby Sleaford, Boston and Spalding. The new surgeries are opening as part of a £34 million investment in NHS dental care in the region over the course of the next ten years.

The new practices will treat around 40,000 patients in total, and news of new clinics has been welcomed by local residents.

NHS England decided to invest in the area after carrying out a review of existing dental services.

JDSP Dental’s application will be considered by planning officers in the coming weeks, and if approved, work will start soon, with an anticipated opening date of January 2019. JDSP is taking over all four of the new Lincolnshire NHS dental contracts.
