A Leicester investment company has spent over a million pounds on its first dental venture.

Mr Pickford’s Pharmacy Group was established to invest in medical businesses and it has recently made its first investment in the dental market, spending £1.1 million on a six surgery dental practice in Higham Ferrers in Northamptonshire.

Mr Pickford’s was launched as a subsidiary of the Pillbox & Case Company, which is owned by accountant Manish Patel and his brother-in-law, Parthiv Patel. The company was launched to take over business, as well as offering shares to staff.

The company already owns pharmacies in Corby, Kettering, Rushey Mead and Beaumont Leys, as well as an online business based at the firm’s headquarters in Hamilton.

The lead dentist at the new practice will be Manish’s cousin, Dr Sundip Patel. The practice employs 25 members of staff and will provide mainly private dental services.

The brothers are now looking into other dental ventures, as well as possible investments in care and residential homes.
