American singer, LeAnn Rimes has been forced to cancel a number of concerts after undergoing emergency dental treatment.

The singer was scheduled to perform in New Philadelphia, Ohio and Carmel, Indiana last Thursday and Friday, but she was forced to cancel the events after being told she required emergency root canal treatment.

Updating her fans on Twitter last week, Rimes said that she was waiting for the endodontist to carry out urgent root canal treatment. She apologised to her fans for cancelling the concerts and said that situation was “one of the craziest things I’ve ever been through” and added that she was trying to take her mind off the impending operation by tweeting her followers.

Rimes also tweeted that she was nervous about the procedure and called on her followers to wish her luck. She finished her series of tweets by promising to reschedule any cancelled gigs as soon as possible.

LeAnn Rimes shot to fame with the hit, How Do I Live and she has since established a very successful career, especially in her home nation, America.

After treatment, Rimes confirmed that she was taking painkillers and going to bed to rest.
