A dental team from Leamington has signed up for a charity swimathon to raise money for two charities in Warwickshire.

The staff at Dental Solutions in Hamilton Terrace will be taking on the Soroptimists Swimathon at Warwick School to raise money for the Leamington branch of Parkinson’s UK and also the Myton Hospices.

The swimathon will take place on Sunday 14th October and teams must swim for a total of 55 minutes in a relay format; the teams are made up of six swimmers and a non-swimming captain.

The staff from Dental Solutions, now known as the Dental Divers, will be joining other local organisations and businesses to take part in the charity event. Bronwen O’Brien, a dentist at the practice, said that that this will be the first time the practice has entered a team and everyone is looking forward to the event, despite the fact that the members’ swimming ability varies. One of the nurses at the practice, Sarah Robinson recently did a skydive to raise money for Myton hospice and the rest of the team wanted to do something to raise more cash for local causes.

Prizes will be awarded to the team that raises the most money and the team that completes the most lengths.
