Lavenham dental practice submits expansion plans

Sample News Big

The owners of a busy dental practice in Lavenham, Suffolk have applied for planning permission to expand following a surge in the demand for treatment.

The application outlines plans to extend Lavenham Dental Practice, which is located at 5, Church Street so that it occupies both the existing premises and the neighbouring property.

By extending into 6, Church Street, the practice will be able to treat more patients at a time when appointments are highly sought-after.

The proposals include creating a new opening in the adjoining wall, inserting a new doorway, taking the stairs out and redoing the plasterwork. The finished result would be a larger, more open practice, which spanned both buildings.

If the plans are approved by Babergh District Council, the owners are planning to hire three new members of staff and encourage patients to take advantage of budget schemes and pay-as-you-go appointments.

The application was submitted on July 7th and it is available to view online.

There is currently a shortage of dental places in the area and the owners of the practice are hoping to secure permission to expand into the neighbouring property to increase patient numbers.

Access issues are prevalent across the UK with many practices facing backlogs after the lockdown.
