A dental team from Nelson, Lancashire, has raised more than £1,000 by completing the Lancashire Pennine 10K run.

Dentists, nurses, hygienists and reception staff from Dentistry for All on Scotland Road successfully completed the 10 kilometre run and managed to raise a total of £1,288 for Pendleside Hospice. This was the third year the race has taken place and more than 2,500 runners were involved, raising thousands for a host of different causes.

Neil Huddart, a dentist at the practice, said that the run was hard, but it was great fun and the team put it in an excellent effort. The total raised will make a massive difference to a really worthwhile cause and all the staff members were extremely grateful for donations from colleagues, patients, friends and relatives.

Hospice fundraiser, Sammi Bracewell, thanked the team for their amazing efforts in completing the run and for their hard work in raising funds for Pendleside Hospice. The money will be used to provide support for people who have been diagnosed with terminal and debilitating illnesses.

Pendleside Hospice provides care for terminally ill patients, as well as advice and emotional support for their family members. The hospice depends heavily on donations and every penny counts, so to receive in excess of £1,200 will make a real difference.
