Kidderminster Dental Practice To Offer New Stop Smoking Programme

Sample News Big

A dental practice in Kidderminster is to offer a new programme to help patients to give up smoking.

Smoking contributes to an increased risk of gum disease, as well as causing bad breath and tooth discolouration and dentists are eager to help patients to quit. Now, the team at Whitehouse and Partners is able to provide practical support through a new scheme, which has been launched by National Stop Smoking Centres.

The Phoenix Stop Smoking Programme is designed to support patients through the process of giving up and also allows them access to advice and information.

Practice manager, Claire Pawson, said that it was a great honour to be one of the first dental clinics in the country to offer the scheme and the team is excited to be able to provide support for patients through the scheme. The dental team has been trying to discourage patients from smoking for many years and now there is a programme in place to help dentists and nurses to offer practical advice, which will be more useful to patients than simply talking about the dangers and health implications of smoking.
