Karachi Medical and Dental College to Become a University

The Karachi Medical and Dental College will be upgraded to a university, it has been confirmed.

The decision was made at a meeting at the Governor’s House on Saturday; Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, chaired the meeting, with Principal Secretary, Dr Naushad Shaikh, Senator Haseeb Ahmed Khan, Ghulam Nabi Shah, Muhammad Hussain Syed and Qazi Khalid Ali, also in attendance.

The Karachi Medical and Dental College will become the City University of Health Sciences following the upgrade, with the change meaning an advancement in the level of education and study at the institute.

The group also discussed the forthcoming establishment of the first law university in Pakistan, the Muhammad Ali Jinnah University in Hyderabad, with both developments highlighting an advancement in higher education in the country, which the group hope will be beneficial to the nation.
