Strictly contestant and tennis super-mum, Judy Murray, has shown off the results of 15 months of intensive dental treatment. Judy, who is best known for cheering on her son, Andy, from the sidelines of the Wimbledon courts, conquered her fear of the dentist to undergo treatment to provide her with a dazzling new smile.

Judy decided to do something about her smile after growing tired of receiving comments about her appearance when she was shown on TV cheering on Andy and his brother, doubles specialist, Jamie. Judy is famed for being an animated character and her grimaces and facial expressions would often appear in the newspapers, usually followed by a host of comments, many of which were unpleasant. Judy said that she was sick of hearing people say that she never smiles and she looks miserable, so she decided to take drastic action.

After undergoing 15 months of dental treatment at a cost of around £30,000, Judy is finally proud of her pearly whites. She said that the process was long, but it’s the best decision she ever made, as she now feels confident enough to smile without worrying about being bombarded by critics. Experts believe that Judy has had dental implants to replace missing teeth in addition to tooth straightening treatment and whitening. With Wimbledon fast approaching, Judy is hoping Andy will be fit after taking several months off to recover from a hip injury he sustained during last year’s competition.
