An Indian company has joined forces with a French institute to launch “Stemade Biotech,” which will serve as a bank for dental stem cells.

CEO of the Institute Clinident Biopharma, Dr. Franck Chaubron was quoted as saying; ‘As compared to other sources, window for banking stem cells from the dental pulp is greater hence providing multiple opportunities to bank. The novelty of dental stem cells is that they can be easily acquired and banked for future application purposes.’

Dr. Chaubron is the license holder and inventor of the patented technology that is used to extract and preserve dental stem cells, which are obtained from the pulp inside healthy teeth. ‘It is safer, easier and has more applications,’ Dr. Chaubron stated. ‘The partnership allows Stemade Biotech to use the innovative technique of collecting the dental pulp, which is live tissue found inside all healthy teeth.’

Deepak Ghaisas, the chairman of Stemade’s parent company Gencoval Strategic Services Pvt Ltd., explained that the stem cells would be extracted and preserved at Stemade under special conditions. These cells will then be used in future as part of numerous therapeutic treatments. Ghaisas was quoted as saying; ‘The valuable stem cells, building blocks of every human body, are to be extracted from primary teeth and wisdom teeth. Autologous solutions are the order of the day.’

Stem cell banking is set to be the first in a long line of Stemade ventures as they aim to breakthrough the Indian healthcare market.
