Horsham dental practice launches Colgate recycling initiative

Sample News Big

A dental practice in Horsham has launched a recycling initiative as part of a scheme championed by Colgate.

To encourage people to recycle plastic waste, Colgate has been handing out specialist recycling bins to clinics all over the country. Staff and patients at East Mews Dental Care will now be depositing oral health supplies and materials, including toothbrushes, in a bid to cut waste and promote recycling. Many of the materials that are used to create dental equipment and supplies cannot be recycled normally, and Colgate has teamed up with TerraCycle to provide advanced recycling services suited to dental surgeries.

Patients and local residents will now be able to pop into the practice and place their old brushes or tubes of toothpaste into the bins, with the containers then passed on to TerraCycle in partnership with Colgate.

Colgate is hoping to expand the programme to cover practices all over the UK, with more and more clinics signing up for recycling bins. Recycling brush heads, toothpaste tubes and empty cartons is a great way to reduce dental waste and to prevent materials that can be recycled ending up in landfill sites.
